He has also appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court, admitted by motion of former U.S. Solicitor General Rex Lee.
Mr. Williams has prosecuted and defended lawsuits involving business contracts, construction, property condemnation, constitutional law, lender liability, bad faith, unfair trade practices, antitrust, computer piracy, trade secrets, mining rights, aviation, trademark and patent infringement, real estate, defamation, commercial fraud, and civil racketeering. In the area of construction law, Mr. Williams has represented general contractors, subcontractors, materials suppliers and project owners in construction disputes, as well as design professionals.
Being a commercial, multi-engine pilot with instrument privileges and over 3,000 hours flight time, Mr. Williams also practices aviation law. Mr. Williams is at the cutting edge of technology in the courtroom and at depositions, including the use of technology for pretrial preparation and electronic presentation of evidence at trial. Judges recognize his expertise in this area, and he has been asked to give presentations to members of the State Bar of Arizona on technology and the practice of law.
Mr. Williams was lead defense counsel in the 500 million dollar Baptist Foundation of Arizona Criminal Trial brought by the Arizona Attorney General. The ten month jury trial was chronicled in local and national media.
